Renewal of the Board of Directors
The term of the current AIDB Board of Directors ends in 2010; for this reason, the Board has initiated the procedures for its renewal, establishing the procedures and timeline.
The Bylaws provide forthe election of the Board of Directors by the Members’ Assembly every three years. The Board of Directors consists of five members: the President (the candidate who received the most votes from the assembly), the Secretary, the Treasurer, and two Directors. Their respective duties and functions are defined in the bylaws.
Thanks to the introduction of the Bylaws approved at the last Members’ Meeting, the elections will be conducted online (see item 5, “Voting Procedures”), thereby avoiding the need to convene the Members’ Meeting and ensuring that all members are able to cast their votes.
In order to meet the timeline for the renewal of the governing body, the current Executive Committee has set the following deadlines:
- Monday, March 8, 2010: Deadline for submitting candidacies by notifying the secretariat. Only REGULAR MEMBERS are eligible to run. The list of candidates, updated in real time, is available in the Members-Only Area of this website.
- From Tuesday, March 9, to Friday, March 12, 2010: formation of an election committee, which will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the proper conduct of the elections. This committee must be composed of members who are not candidates and will be appointed by the current Board of Directors based on the availability indicated by the members themselves.
- From Monday, March 15, 2010, to Friday, March 19, 2010 ( 3:00 p.m.), voting will be open to all REGULAR MEMBERS who are up to date with their 2010 membership dues, in accordance with the procedures previously communicated by the Executive Committee.
- By Monday, March 22, 2010, the committee spokesperson will announce the new CD.
