October 2–3, 2014 AIDB 2014 General Assembly and Conference “PATENT VALUATION: BETWEEN TECHNOLOGY, FINANCE, AND LEGAL ISSUES. COMBINING TOOLS, DATABASES, AND EXPERTISE”

The annual conference of the Italian Association of Patent Documentalists (AIDB) is the leading national event in the field of technical, scientific, and legal information—represented by the millions of patents that make up a vast, yet still underutilized, international archive.
The 2014 edition, organized in collaboration with the Science and Technology Park of the Naples and Caserta Metropolitan Area and the COTEC Foundation for Technological Innovation, is dedicated to the economic exploitation of patents and, therefore, to their evaluation from technical, legal, and financial perspectives.
Corporate strategies regarding the development of the patent portfolio must, in fact, be based on reliable and comprehensible data: the data landscape that a patent researcher can provide, drawing on their knowledge and experience, forms the fundamental basis for the resulting legal and financial analyses. The extent and nature of this link to the company’s innovation process is the central theme of the conference that AIDB is organizing this year in Naples, the ideal setting to celebrate the Association’s tenth anniversary.
The AIDB Conference therefore aims to explore the topic of patent documentation as an indispensable support for business decisions, addressing the world of technical and scientific research, innovative companies, and intellectual property professionals, who will find interesting insights into the subject.
