CERTIDOC-Italia Is Launched

Italy is now the fourth country—after France, Germany, and Spain—to comply with European standards (UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17024:2004— Conformity Assessment. General requirements for bodies operating in the certification of persons), which provides for the certification of information specialists, librarians, media librarians, information monitors, knowledge managers, archivists, records managers, and multimedia content managers.
A press conference, to be held on November 29, 2006, at 10 a.m. atthe Hotel Nazionale in Rome (Sala Cristallo, Piazza Montecitorio), will outline the role and activities of Certidoc-Italia (the Italian implementation of the European CERTIDOC model), the new body for certifying the competencies of information and documentation professionals.
