Read MoreApplications are now open for the eighth edition of the Bernardo Nobile Award, the annual prize established by AREA Science Park to recognize bachelor’s or doctoral theses from Italian universities—in both the humanities and the sciences—that have highlighted the use of patents as a source of documentation.
Eligibility for the Nobile Prize is limited to those who, no more than two years prior to the deadline for the call for applications, have earned a master’s degree (under the new or old system) or a Ph.D. from an Italian university, with no restrictions on age or citizenship.
Interest in the field of energy conservation is once again on the rise this year: in addition to the two “traditional” awards—one for a bachelor’s thesis and the other for a doctoral dissertation—the call for entries includes thethe awarding of a third prize dedicated to a bachelor’s or doctoral thesis that uses patents as a source of information in the fields of energy efficiency or renewable energy and that has led to the filing of a patent application for an invention in the construction sector, preferably incorporating “green” energy sources. Each winner will receive a check for 2,500 euros.
As in previous years, the initiative is sponsored by AIDB.
