WIPO—the World Intellectual Property Organization—is a United Nations agency founded in 1967 that deals with intellectual property (IP). It currently has 193 members, and its mission is to lead the development of a balanced and effective international intellectual property system that fosters innovation and creativity for the benefit of all.

Among other things, WIPO administers the PCT system, for which it has created a database called PATENTSCOPE, which over the years has been supplemented with data from a vast international collection of patents. WIPO also provides the GLOBAL BRAND and GLOBAL DESIGN DATABASE databases and the Inspire information platform; it administers the International Patent Classification (IPC), the system of IP standards, various international treaties, and many other initiatives.

Starting with the 2025 edition, patent information specialist associations, including AIDB, have been invited to participate in the annual WIPO-PatCom Meeting, an event dedicated to IP information professionals.

The Patent Committee,“PatCom,” is, in fact, an organization of providers of commercial information on intellectual property, and it is very useful to discuss matters with them here as well.

In this section, you will find the documents that have been made available by the event organizers.
