As provided for in the Association’s Bylaws, there are two different types of members based on their membership status: Regular Members and Honorary Members.
Different membership fees apply to certain specific categories.
In addition, a reduced membership fee applies to subsequent members with the same membership status as the first member.

All members are granted access to the Association’s email mailing list, which serves as the discussion forum within AIDB, andto the Members-Only Area of the website, which contains information and documentation regarding conferences and meetings, as well as all information about the Association’s activities and working groups. Video recordings of the workshops organized by AIDB from 2020 to the present are also available; these are useful for gaining a deeper understanding of the many intellectual property-related topics covered. In general, with a few exceptions, these events are exclusively for members.

The membership fees for 2026 are the same as those for 2025, namely:

  • 80 euros for Ordinary Members (one-time or initial registration)
  • 200 euros for Ordinary Members who are owners, employees, or contractors of commercial companies that provide products or tools for intellectual property research and analysis (single or initial registration)
  • 150 euros for Ordinary Members who are owners, employees, or contractors of commercial entities classified as micro-enterprises (according to EU criteria, these are SMEs with fewer than 10 employees and an annual turnover not exceeding 2 million euros) that provide products or tools for intellectual property research and analysis (single or first registration)
  • 80 euros for each additional Ordinary Member with the same affiliation as the first member (applies only to the two cases mentioned above, regarding members who are owners, employees, or contractors of commercial companies that provide products or tools for intellectual property research and analysis)
  • 30 euros for Student Regular Membership—a category reserved for college students and doctoral candidates
  • 30 euros for “Retired” Ordinary Members—a category reserved for professionals or retired former company employees
  • 0 euros for Ordinary Membership (free of charge) — a category reserved for individuals expressly invited by the Board of Directors for special merits.
  • Euro 0 Regular Membership (free of charge) — reserved for those on maternity or paternity leave at the time of initial enrollment or renewal
  • Euro 0 Honorary Member
