{"id":7315,"date":"2026-07-15T15:05:06","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T13:05:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aidb.it\/latests-news\/patents-vaccines-information-and-data\/"},"modified":"2026-07-15T15:05:06","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T13:05:06","slug":"patents-vaccines-information-and-data","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aidb.it\/en\/latests-news\/patents-vaccines-information-and-data\/","title":{"rendered":"Patents, vaccines, information, and data"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Intellectual Property Help Desk at Sardegna Ricerche, in collaboration with AIDB\u2014the Italian Association of Patent Document Specialists\u2014is organizing two webinars to address the much-debated issue of <strong>patenting vaccines<\/strong>.  <!--more--><br \/>\nWith the help of experts, we will discuss the tools available to the general public for actively engaging with information in order to identify false or biased news.<br \/>\nThe webinars are aimed particularly at <strong>college students<\/strong> but are open to everyone.<\/p>\n<p>The meetings will be held on the GoToMeeting platform on <strong>February 25<\/strong> and <strong>March 11<\/strong> from 3:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.it\/e\/biglietti-brevetti-vaccini-informazioni-e-dati-141428180495\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PROGRAM &#038; RECORDINGS<\/a> (The link to access the event will be sent on the day of the event)<\/p>\n<p><em>The speakers (March 11 meeting)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Valentina Gazzarri<\/strong><br \/>\nShe is an attorney who handles legal matters covering the full spectrum of intellectual property rights.<br \/>\nHer professional background has led her to specialize in intellectual property protection as it relates to the Chinese market and international contracts.<br \/>\nBefore joining the legal department at Bugnion, she gained experience at leading law firms and spent time in Shanghai completing an internship in the brand protection division of a major Italian luxury brand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lidia Casciano<\/strong><br \/>\nAuthorized representative before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM), the European Patent Office (EPO), and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).<br \/>\nShe specializes in the fields of pharmaceutical chemistry, medical devices, inorganic chemistry, and biotechnology. She has recognized expertise in patent searches, as well as in patent filing, prosecution, and litigation, particularly regarding supplementary protection certificates.<br \/>\nShe is a member of AICIPI and AIDB. She is a speaker at numerous events in the pharmaceutical sector and a co-author of industry publications.<br \/>\nShe joined Studio Torta in 2003 and became a partner in 2013.<br \/>\nShe is admitted to practice before the future Unified Patent Court. <\/p>\n<p><em>The speakers (February 25 meeting):<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Giulia Tagliafico<\/strong><br \/>\nIndustrial property consultant and authorized representative before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM), the European Patent Office (EPO), and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).<br \/>\nA chemistry graduate, before embarking on her freelance career, she gained extensive experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical industries starting in 1990, managing industrial property portfolios and handling all procedures for obtaining and defending patents internationally.<br \/>\nShe has provided professional training in the field of intellectual property at various national and international institutions and universities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Luca Falciola<\/strong><br \/>\nHe earned a Ph.D. in applied genetics and conducted postdoctoral research in molecular biology at scientific institutions in Italy and Switzerland.<br \/>\nAfter gaining experience in biotech companies as an IP manager in Switzerland, France, and Belgium, he is currently the head of the consulting firm Scibilis (Brussels, Belgium), which operates in the fields of intellectual property, research and analysis of technical and legal information, contract drafting, and higher education.<br \/>\nA long-standing member of AIDB, he has taught courses and seminars on biomedical and patent information research at Italian universities and is the author of articles and presentations at international conferences on these topics, including the recent \u201cSearching and Analyzing Patent-Relevant Information for Evaluating COVID-19 Innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrea Grignolio<\/strong><br \/>\n, a professor of the History of Medicine and Bioethics at the Vita-Salute S. Raffaele University in Milan, is one of the best-known science communicators, collaborating daily with radio, television, and print media.<br \/>\nFrom his bachelor\u2019s degree in philosophy to his Ph.D. in the history of science, and his international studies in Paris, Boston, and Berkeley, he has conducted research at leading institutions on the history of scientific research, particularly in medicine and immunology.
