At the same time, however, they unexpectedly highlight some <strong>issues<\/strong> in the databases regarding coverage, classification, translation, \u201cKind Code\u201d recognition, etc.<\/p>\n<p>This presentation is not intended to be a training session on the new Espacenet, but rather a <strong>collection of \u201ccase studies\u201d<\/strong> that may be useful to those conducting patent searches\u2014and not only on Espacenet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Espacenet Filters<\/li>\n<li>Industrial Revolution<\/li>\n<li>Degree in \u201cSociology\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Gaps in Coverage<\/li>\n<li>Lost in (Patent) Translation<\/li>\n<li>Missed in (Classific)action<\/li>\n<li>Television: \u201cKind Code\u201d Confusion<\/li>\n<li>The (Patent) Sleeping Beauty and the Technology Prince<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The speaker<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Domenico Golzio<\/strong> has a degree in physics. After working as an electrical engineer in the telecommunications, automotive, and aerospace industries, he joined the EPO as a patent examiner in the field of ICT. He served as director of a research and analysis unit, led the department that developed tools for prior art research and patent information, and served as director of the CIO\/CTO office. His research covers various aspects of intellectual property rights, including the relationship between patents and innovation, patent information, international patent portfolios, and comparisons of different patent systems.
