In 2018 he was Thomas K. McCraw Visiting Fellow in US Business History at the Harvard Business School. He deals with the history of statistics and accounting, urban history, business history and historical demography. After working in the telecommunications, automotive, and aerospace industries, he joined the EPO as a patent examiner in the ICT field. He was director of a search and examination unit, led the development of prior art and patent information search engines, and originated the Data Science department. He has done research on various aspects of intellectual property, such as the link between patents and innovation, patent information, international patent portfolios, and comparison of different patent systems. He is a member of the Italian Association of Patent Documentalists (AIDB), IEEE-USA Intellectual Property Committee, IEEE-USA AI Policy Committee as well as IEEE Life Member.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5840 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aidb.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Adams-e1718873930331.jpg\" alt=\"Stephen Adams\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.aidb.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Adams-e1718873930331.jpg 366w, https:\/\/www.aidb.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Adams-e1718873930331-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.aidb.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Adams-e1718873930331-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Stephen Adams<\/strong>\u00a0is the managing director of Magister Ltd., a UK-based consultancy specialising in patents information.\u00a0 Mr. Adams is a Qualified Patent Information Professional (number 20190044100092) and holds a B.Sc. in chemistry from the University of Bristol and an M.Sc. in Information Science from City University, London, as well as professional memberships of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and the UK\u2019s Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP).\u00a0 He is the author of three editions of \u201cInformation Sources in Patents\u201d, the latest published in 2020 by Walter de Gruyter KG, contributed several book chapters and written numerous articles in the field of patent information, including over 20 refereed papers for the Elsevier journal \u201cWorld Patent Information\u201d.\u00a0 His professional service includes the Editorial Advisory Board of \u201cWorld Patent Information\u201d between 2006-2020 and three terms on the Board of PIUG Inc., the International Society for Patent Information, as Director-at-Large (2002-2006) and Vice-Chair (2014-2016 and 2016-2018), as well as service on the management committee of the UK\u2019s Patent and Trade Mark Group over many years.\u00a0 He received the PIUG\u2019s Special Recognition Award in 2008 and the IPI Award in 2012 for outstanding contribution to patent information.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5842 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aidb.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Daemmrich-150x150.png\" alt=\"Arthur Daemmrich\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Arthur Daemmrich<\/strong>\u00a0is director of the Arizona State University Consortium for Science, Policy and Outcomes (CSPO). He has led or participated in projects studying pharmaceutical innovation and regulation, chemical risk, healthcare systems, sports technology, and is currently researching the history of US technology policy. Daemmrich has published in the fields of science and technology studies, history of technology, medical sociology, and business policy. He was previously director of the Smithsonian Institution\u2019s Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation and has held academic appointments at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and Harvard Business School.
